This product is extremely dangerous to pets. Thousands of cat and kitten injuries and deaths have been reported to the EPA, the regulatory agency that has oversight over these topical spot-on pesticide products. The EPA issued a Public Advisory on May 7, 2009, advising additional scrutiny over these pesticide ingredient products because of the tremendous spike in reported animal injuries and deaths. Hartz’s cat and kitten products were among the original list that contributed to the vast majority of incidents reported to the EPA. The EPA issued a Cancellation Order in 2005 on Hartz’s cat and kitten products, which contained precisely the same ingredients in exactly the same volumes as their current dog/puppy products. They have not yet taken the same action on Hartz’s dog products but, again, thousands of incidents have been reported, including deaths of animals. Please use safer alternatives. They are available. Speak with your vet. He or she can give you much safer recommendations. If you cannot afford the products the vets sell, I have learned that most veterinarians will help with the price if you will avoid using these neurotoxin, pesticide products. Please be careful. I’ve had my own experience with Hartz’s products and it was a nightmare.

I just used this product on my two cats. I’ve used their products before, but I’d never tried the Pro version. I have a short-haired Burmese and a long-haired American Domestic. The little applicator gismo really helped apply the product right to where it’s supposed to go. I have one squirmy cat and this just went right through her fur so easily and took the stress out of it for me. The flea problem was also dealt with efficiently. You have to follow the instructions they give you, but I don’t think you’ll be disappointed, and you can’t beat the price.
